During his punditry on LFC TV, Luis Garcia noted just how potent Harvey Elliott was in front of goal during Liverpool’s open training session in Singapore.
The Spaniard was in the middle of discussing Elliott when the youngster went on a run of scoring a number of goals from the edge of the box as the Reds worked on an attacking drill.
Indeed, as you can see in the video, Elliott continuously put the ball in the back of the net from range, and Garcia was blown away by his proficiency.
The Spaniard noted that Elliott seemed to be scoring every single time he got near the box.
What’s been said?
Garcia had nothing but praise for Elliott.
“I love him to be honest, ever since he arrived in the first team you could see that he’s there with a lot of hunger. That is now four goals he’s scored every single time he’s been around the box he’s scored,” Garcia said.
“He’s not looking for the top corner or a lob, he’s trying to score and that is important to have a player with that determination and conviction that he can become one of Jurgen Klopp’s first XI. He’s showing me in training that he wants to be in that XI.”

Big season ahead
Elliott certainly had his shooting boots on during training, and he could have a big season ahead when it comes to goals.
The midfielder has challenged himself to score at least 15 goals next term, and after this flurry of finishing in Singapore, we wouldn’t back against it.
Elliott wasn’t prolific in front of goal last season, but he’s clearly been working in his shooting this summer, and if he gets the chance to play, he may well start finding the back of the net on a regular basis for the Reds.
Don’t be shocked if Elliott turns into something of a goal machine next term.
