Speaking to the Chronicle, Kieran Trippier has been previewing Newcastle United’s game against Leeds United this weekend.
The Magpies face the Whites as they look to continue their assault on the top four, and while they head into this game as favourites, Trippier is well aware of the challenge that lays ahead of him.
Indeed, while Leeds haven’t been brilliant this season, they have the ability to pull off an upset having beaten Liverpool at Anfield just before the World Cup break.
Trippier says that he’s well aware of the fight that Leeds will bring to this game, stating that his teammates are ready for this battle.

Trippier up for the fight
The right-back discussed the upcoming game against Leeds.
“You need to have that edge and fight. And be ready for a fight. Because every Leeds team you play against you are in for a battle,” Trippier said.
“That will be no different against them this time.”
“Now it is just about recovering for us. We will analyse the game with the manager against Leicester. We can still improve, there were loads of moments we can improve if you want to be critical. We have to enjoy it as well.”
Should be interesting
Trippier says that Newcastle are up for this fight, and this should make for an interesting battle.
A Leeds team with a lot of heart heading to a raucous St James’ Park should make for a fantastic game, and while Newcastle are favourites here, you can never write off the idea of Leeds causing an upset.
Newcastle and Trippier need to try and stifle this Leeds team quickly, because if they come out of the blocks quickly, they will give Newcastle a real game.
This match has the potential to be one of the highlights of the season if both teams turn up.
