Everton’s Ross Barkley celebrates
Toffees midfielder Ross Barkley has returned to form over the past few weeks, and he sat down for an interview with EVERTON TV, explaining how his celebration against Bournemouth earlier this month, before he had even tapped the ball in the net, was evidence of how he has found his confidence in an Everton shirt again.
The 23-year-old has received heavy criticism form Blues fans and pundits alike this season, after a succession of lacklustre displays.
He has also had to endure lengthy spells on the substitutes bench, after Ronald Koeman grew increasingly frustrated with his toothless performances.
But he deserves a lot of credit for the manner in which he has turned things around of late.
He has scored one goal and chipped in with three assists in Everton’s last fives games, and his overall levels have vastly improved.
Barkley sat down for an interview with EVERTON TV, and explained how he has full confidence in his own ability:

“That just showed how much I’m enjoying it at the minute. And that’s the same with all of the lads as well. The goal was in the last minute – and it’s something you do as a kid. I was through and knew I wasn’t missing, so I celebrated before I scored. It was just on the spur of the moment, I thought about doing it straight away. It’s what every footballer wants to do – enjoy it. Sometimes you go through the hard spells but it’s worth it in the end because you get the good days ahead.”
The Toffees are currently in the midst of a fine run of form, aided by Barkley’s return to his best, and sit in seventh spot in the Premier League table, just nine points adrift of the Champions League spots.
And if they can continue their superb run, then who knows how far they can go this season.
