Everton midfielder Ross Barkley wanted to praise Wayne Rooney, but Liverpool fans turned his comments into a joke.

Liverpool fans have trolled Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, after his tweet praising Wayne Rooney on Wednesday.
Rooney scored a hat-trick during Everton’s win over West Ham United, and his third goal drew Barkley out of his Twitter silence.
Rooney smashed in a shot from the half-way line, which showed off his technical ability.
And Barkley was rapid to praise his teammate on social media.
Coincidentally, though, Liverpool also scored a belter of their own against Stoke City at a similar time.
Mohamed Salah volleyed home a Sadio Mane cross to set Liverpool up for a victory at the BET365 Stadium.

And Liverpool fans were all to quick to jump on Barkley’s tweet, and use it as an excuse to praise Salah.
Liverpool’s win over Stoke has pushed Jurgen Klopp’s side up to fifth in the Premier League table, while Everton moved into 13th place after a victory over West Ham United.
Everton and Liverpool are due to meet in two weekends’ time at Anfield.
