Everton forward Richarlison has applauded Gary Neville’s comments, after Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur were among the clubs to join the European Super League yesterday.
Neville slammed the decisions of Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and other leading Premier League clubs to join the newly formed competition.
And it seems that Everton’s Richarlison may be the first active Premier League player to speak out against the plan.
Everton, of course, were not one of the six English clubs invited to join the competition.
It could work out in Everton’s favour though, as points deductions been spoken of as a potential punishment for clubs who join the new competition.
Everton are competing with the likes of Tottenham and Jurgen Klopp’s side for a top four spot this term.
But with Spurs and Liverpool now stating their intention not to compete in next year’s competition, Everton may be gift-wrapped a slot in the tournament.
