According to La Provence, Everton are interested in signing Bouna Sarr from Marseille in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by the French news outlet that Everton are following Sarr, who is valued at €15 million (£13.38 million) by his club Marseille.

However, according to the report, Everton prefer someone younger than the 28-year-old right-back and have not given up on signing 27-year-old Djibril Sidibe for next season, with the France international having moved to the Merseyside outfit on loan from AS Monaco in the summer of 2019.

Good fallback option?

Sarr is a very experienced footballer who has been at Marseille since 2015 and can operate as a right-back or as a right-winger.

The former Metz star played as a left-back, right-back and right-winger for Marseille this season, according to WhoScored.

The Frenchman made 25 starts and two substitute appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Sarr would be a good signing for Everton this summer, especially for the reported transfer fee of €15 million (£13.38 million).

Meanwhile, Nice president Jean-Pierre Riviere has told France Bleu that “it’s conceivable” that Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will join the French club this summer.
