Everton were looking into a deal to sign Bayern Munich right-back Sacha Boey.
David Moyes has been open about his desire to add more attacking threat down the right flank, feeling Jake O’Brien does not quite provide enough going forward.
Several names have come up in discussions, but Boey has started to gain more traction recently.
The Toffees were rumoured to be lining up a serious offer following reports of a falling out between the 25-year-old Frenchman and manager Vincent Kompany. But there has now been a sudden shift in how things are playing out.
Sacha Boey has no plans to leave Bayern Munich amid Everton links

Earlier this week, Kicker reported that Boey’s future at Bayern was looking uncertain, partly due to questions about his relationship with Vincent Kompany.
However, Christian Falk has since stated that the 25-year-old has no intention of leaving, despite interest from Everton, Lyon and Marseille.
Falk noted that Boey is on a sizeable contract with the Bundesliga champions and believes he can turn things around there.
That leaves Moyes and his recruitment team back at square one with only 10 days left in the window.
Everton may revisit interest in Juanlu Sanchez
Everton made a move for Juanlu Sanchez last summer, and their interest hasn’t faded heading into the January window.
They approached Sevilla again this month, and the Spanish club are open to letting him go for around £13m.
While that fee seems within reach, Moyes appears intent on weighing up other options before moving forward with a bid for the Spaniard.
According to Alan Myers, Everton have also been linked with Ryan Alebiosu, who has emerged as another target. The Toffees are reportedly one of several clubs keeping tabs on the Blackburn Rovers right-back.
