The Everton forward has been talking about his style of play.

Oumar Niasse of Everton weaves through the Arsenal defence during the Premier League match between Everton and Arsenal at Goodison Park on October 22, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Everton’s Oumar Niasse has been speaking to the club’s official website about growing up playing football and which player he styled his game on prior to hitting the big time.

The 27-year-old was overlooked for much of Ronald Koeman’s time at Goodison Park. However he proved his worth when he was finally called on, scoring a brace against Bournemouth and then additional strikes against Arsenal and Watford.

It remains to be seen what role he will have when Everton finally appoint a new permanent manager, but he has certainly staked a claim and, if he can have the same kind of impact as his footballing hero, Toffees fans will have fond memories of his time at the club.

“I like (Carlos) Tevez,” Niasse told evertonfc.com. “I used to look at him in the way he is fighting on the pitch.

“Tevez is (technical) but he is more fighting so that’s why I say I was just watching players like him all the time.”

The Argentine was integral to West Ham’s dramatic late survival back in 2007 and Everton may need a saviour of their own given their early-season struggles.

Niasse may not be of the same quality as the former West Ham loanee but he has already proved he can cut it in the Premier League and he may be the best option Everton have up front until January at the earliest.

Sometimes clubs are saved by a fine run earlier in the campaign rather than at the death and Niasse will know this is his chance to prove his worth week in, week out with every last point vital for an Everton side that hs simply not got going this season.
