The Everton player was impressive in their 1-0 victory against Newcastle United.
Of all Everton’s under-performing players this season, midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has come in for more criticism than most, yet his performance against Newcastle United suggested he had turned a corner under new Toffees boss Sam Allardyce.
The former French international impressed against Liverpool last weekend and he showed more glimpses of his undeniable talent as Everton overcame Newcastle 1-0 thanks to a Wayne Rooney goal.
At his best, Schneiderlin is a box-to-box midfielder who can dominate games from first minute to last. Unfortunately for Everton and their supporters, he has been anything but since arriving at Goodison Park, with his last great performance coming back when he was at Southampton.
His outings for the Saints earned him an ill-fated move to Manchester United but now, finally, he could be about to prove his worth all over again.
If anyone can get the best out of under-performing players it is Allardyce, and Everton are already reaping the benefits of appointing the tough-talking gaffer.
Schneiderlin still has a way to go before he has won over all his critics, yet the Everton midfielder was much improved against the Magpies and that can only bode well for the future.
