Everton’s Jordan Pickford earns praise from Ray Parlour

Everton were beaten 5-2 by Arsenal at Goodison Park yesterday.

Ray Parlour has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 23rd October, that he felt Jordan Pickford was excellent for Everton – despite their heavy defeat against Arsenal yesterday.

The Gunners ran out 5-2 winners over Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, with the Toffees’ performance terrible.

Very few Everton players came out of the game with any credit, but Parlour was at least impressed by Pickford.

He said: “I thought Pickford was excellent in goal for Everton, he kept them in it!”

Pickford was called into action on regular occasions against Arsenal, with the Gunners racking up 30 shots during the contest.

Everton’s defence was cut open time and time again, with Koeman’s side seemingly have very few ideas in an attacking or defensive sense.

Everton’s defeat to Arsenal means that they have now failed to win any of their last five matches and they sit in the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Everton’s fixture list is not doing them many favours either, as their next match comes against Chelsea in the League Cup on Wednesday.

Koeman needs to somehow find a way to pick up a victory at Stamford Bridge, as he is under serious pressure at Everton now.
