London outfit Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on Everton’s forgotten man James McCarthy.

Everton’s James McCarthy is a player whose career needs reviving after a number of serious injuries have stagnated his once-blossoming career.
With the summer transfer window open, and Everton signing the likes of Fabian Delph and Andre Gomes, the writing is on the wall for McCarthy.
The Daily Mail recently claimed that the Toffees are holding out for £10 million for McCarthy’s signature following Crytal Palace’s £8 million bid.
There’s no doubt that if McCarthy, who earns £50k-a-week [Spotrac], were to swap Goodison Park for Selhurst Park this summer then he would be taking a backwards step in his career.
But given how the midfielder’s career has gone of late, he perhaps needs to take a step back in order to take two step forwards.

A club like Palace would suit McCarthy because of they have a defensive-minded coach in charge in Roy Hodgson. Plus, their rough and tough style is what McCarthy is made of.
Whilst Everton supporters will be disappointed to see the back of McCarthy this summer, his potential departure won’t be a surprise.
If he can stay fit ahead of the new Premier League campaign then it won’t be long before he’s making a name for himself in the middle of the park.
