Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has been one of the stars of the Premier League this season.
Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye has told the Everton Magazine (as quoted by evertonfc.com) that there is no comparison between himself and Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
Both central midfielders moved to the Premier League last season, with Kante winning the league with Leicester City, while Gueye was relegated with Aston Villa.
The pair have since moved clubs, and Gueye is proving to be one of the signings of the summer after a brilliant start to life at Everton, which has seen his efforts compared to the France international, but Gueye believes he is more like another Frenchman.

“I have heard this before, but I wouldn’t say there is a real comparison – he [Kante] is who he is and I am who I am,” Gueye told the Everton Magazine.
“I can see the model, but I would say there is more of a similarity with Lassana Diarra.
“When I was young, I looked up to David Beckham, but when I reverted to the midfield position I based my game on Diarra.”

Diarra spent four years in England, playing for Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth between 2005 and 2009, before joining Real Madrid. Now 31-year-old, the midfielder is playing for Marseille back in France.
The comparisons between Kante and Gueye have been one of the big talking points following the latter’s move to Goodison Park, with his tireless running and ability to win the ball back very reminiscent of how the Premier League winner goes about his business.
For small players, they prove to be the perfect midfield anchor, just like Diarra was, with their size not proving to be a problem as they dominate battles in the middle of the park.
