Phil Jagielka
It’s somewhat harsh to include the club captain in this list. He has undoubtedly been one of Everton’s best performers in recent years. However, this season he looks off the pace, unfit and a shadow of the player who has been a huge success at the club.
Gerard Deulofeu
When the Spaniard arrived in 2013 on loan from Barcelona he looked a real prospect. However, this time round he has only shown glimpses of what he is capable of, and his consistently poor work rate has seen him sent out on loan to AC Milan.
Oumar Niasse
Bizarre is the only word to describe Niasse’s time on Merseyside. The Senegalese striker did not come cheap either. He obviously did very little to impress Koeman in training and was quickly exiled to the Under 23’s.
Tom Cleverley
Roberto Martinez once claimed that there was no player technically better in the Premier League than Tom Cleverley. Unfortunately several poor performances this season have proven this statement to be questionable, to say the least.
Arouna Kone
The strongest argument suggesting Niasse was unfairly treated at Goodison Park is the fact that Kone is still at the club. He has been given several chances this campaign to prove himself, but never impresses. The former Wigan man looks to be another Martinez signing surplus to requirements.
