Everton managed to pick up a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup yesterday.

Idrissa Gueye has messaged Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, after he scored a brace last night in the League Cup.
Everton beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0, with Calvert-Lewin relieving some of the pressure building on his shoulders.
The young English striker has been heavily criticised this term for his continued struggles in front of goal.
However, Calvert-Lewin now has three goals in as many appearances for Everton.
And his former teammate Gueye at Goodison Park seemed genuinely delighted for the striker yesterday.
Calvert-Lewin’s first goal against Sheffield Wednesday was particularly well taken, as he lashed home a half-volley early on.
The 22-year-old then finished from close range only moments later to set Everton well on their way to victory.
Everton needed Calvert-Lewin’s early brace as the pressure had been building on them after a poor run of results, and the fact they raced into a lead yesterday surely was a boost to their confidence.
Everton will now be looking to build on this result, with their next match coming against champions Manchester City.
