Barry has played with and against some of the best players in the world throughout his time in the game, with many of those coming from his tenure at City.
During the 35-year-old’s five-year spell at the club he was part of one of the most expensive teams in football, and it is no surprise that there were some superstars in that line-up.
As reported by the Echo, Barry has warned his Toffees teammates of Silva’s impact ahead of their game against the Citizens at the weekend.
Barry has stated that Silva was indeed the best player he ever had he pleasure of lining up with, and he is fully aware of the difficult task that faces him and midfield partner Idrissa Gueye when the two sides clash at the Etihad Stadium.
“I loved playing with David Silva at City,” Barry said.
“When I received the ball, every time I looked up and he seemed to be acres of space that you could find him in.
“So I enjoyed playing with David Silva.”
Under new manager Ronald Koeman, the Englishman has experienced something of a career resurgence, with his link-up play alongside new signing Gueye being highlighted as one of the main reasons for Everton’s early success this season.
How much longer Barry has in the game is another question entirely, but for now Toffees fans will simply be enjoying the benefits.
