Having moved to Everton in the summer, Ashley Williams has formed a strong partnership with Phil Jagielka.
Everton defender Ashley Williams has told Evertontv that he still believes he can improve his game by learning from his teammate Phil Jagielka.
Williams is the captain of Wales and wore the armband at his previous club Swansea City, showing just how good a leader he is, but the centre back has had to take a step back from leadership at Goodison Park, with Jagielka wearing the armband for Ronald Koeman’s side.
Despite now being 32, Williams believes he can still get better by working alongside Jagielka.

“I can definitely learn from him,” Williams told Evertontv.
“He’s got a different way of working sometimes and there’s a difference in how he likes to deal with certain situations within the game.
“Hopefully we can keep playing together a lot this season and we can strike up a good bond on the pitch and off it.”

When Ronald Koeman arrived at the club this summer, one of his first tasks was to tighten a defence that had been relatively leaky under previous boss Roberto Martinez.
In the opening months of the Premier League season, Everton have been much more solid defensively, and that has largely been down to the arrival of Williams, who is one of the best centre backs in the division.
With 34-year-old Jagielka alongside him, Everton appear to have a much more solid base with two natural leaders at the heart of defence. The change of scenery for Williams has helped his career, and he will continue to get better as he learns new ways of playing from his partner Jagielka.
