Everton’s Jonjoe Kenny tries to keep the ball in play as Swansea City’s Martin Olsson appeals
Toffees youngster Jonjoe Kenny came on as a 78th minute substitute for his side again Swansea yesterday, in what was only his second appearance for the senior side, and shared what Ronald Koeman told him, just before introducing him to the game, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
The Dutchman has become renowned for giving young players opportunities during his time in football management, and Kenny, 20, is the latest name on the list of talented young stars who has been given a platform to showcase his skills.
Despite the poor result against the Swans, Blues fans will surely have been pleased to see another product of their academy take to the field yesterday, with the future looking brighter than it possibly ever has done at Goodison Park.
And Kenny spoke to reporters about the final instructions that he received from his manager before entering the field of play, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo:

“The manager’s instructions were to just get up and down, put some crosses in and do what I’ve done well for the Under-23s, so I tried to put that into the game.”
Despite his best efforts, Kenny failed to influence the game to the extent that would have helped them get back into the contest which they eventually lost 1-0.
It’s not all bad news, however. With just two games remaining in the season, and little to play for other than personal pride, Toffees fans can expect to see even more youngsters blooded into the first-team.
