Everton youngster Fraser Hornby scored his first goal on loan in Belgium this week.

The 20-year-old striker is playing at Jupiler Pro League side KV Kortrijk.

Hornby scored one goal and provided one assist in a 3-1 win in the Belgian Cup over lower league side RFC Saraing.

Hornby sent a message to fans expressing his delight at getting off the mark.

This might ‘just’ have been against a lower league side but it gives Hornby a vital confidence boost and it was a test his manager would have wanted to see him pass, and that he did.

His start in Belgium has been hampered by an ankle injury and he made his Jupiler Pro League debut last weekend.

So this was just his second appearance, and Hornby is likely to keep his starting spot this Saturday against Gent.
