The veteran defender has been out of form for some time at Goodison Park.
Everton defender Phil Jagielka has been linked with a move away from the club this week. It was reported by the Daily Mail that the 34-year-old defender was set to discuss his future at the club with the Everton board about his future with the club – as West Ham and Sunderland apparently consider moves for the player.
Ronald Koeman would not be making a mistake if he decided to let the player go this month.
Everton’s Phil Jagielka
Jagielka has been an incredible servant to the Everton squad. Since his arrival from Sheffield United in 2007 he has become an integral member of the Everton team and also began an England career that has taken him to 40 international caps.
But, at 34, time is starting to catch up on Jagielka. For 18 months now his performances have been in steady decline and Everton must know the time is right to consider letting him go.

Everton fans undoubtedly appreciate the efforts that Jagielka has put in at the club but at present, he is not up to scratch if Everton want to break the barrier in the Premier League elite.
A loan deal, especially at former manager David Moyes’ Sunderland side, would be the perfect chance for Jagielka to show what he still possesses and help the Black Cats in their fight against relegation.
Everton should let it happen.
