Everton are said to want Roma striker Edin Dzeko, with Marco Silva looking to bring in some new additions in January.

According to Italian news website Il Messaggero, Everton are lining up a bid for Edin Dzeko and that could be an impressive short-term fix for them.

Everton are looking to strengthen their attack this month, and Dzeko could actually be ideal.

The 32-year-old may well be at the wrong end of his career, but he still offers exactly what Everton need.

The Toffees have enough pace and energy in their attack, but they need a finisher and that is what Dzeko specialises in.

The Bosnian is far more reliable in front of goal than any of Marco Silva’s current options.

And if Everton could bring him in from Roma, then it could be their ideal January signing.

The Toffees have not performed quite as well as many were hoping so far this season.

But with Dzeko up-top Silva’s squad would pose much more of an attacking threat, and the former Manchester City man should now be made the main priority at Goodison Park.
