Everton winger Yannick Boalsie returned early from his loan spell at Aston Villa and he should consider re-joining Crystal Palace.

Yannick Bolasie’s short stay at Championship side Aston Villa was like one of his showboating skills on the left or right flank, blink and you will miss it.

The Everton man, who was on a season-long loan at Villa Park, cut short his stay in the Midlands and has now returned to his parent club.

The Liverpool Echo claims that the 29-year-old is ready to fight for his place at Goodison Park, but his early return could result in him facing the rest of the campaign on the sidelines.

If truth be told, Bolasie didn’t really pull up trees at Villa, his inconsistent performances and inability to prove that he is a Premier League quality player didn’t stand out in the second tier of English football.

It is obvious that the eccentric winger is vying for top-flight football and he should look no further for first-team minutes than his former club Crystal Palace following his surprise exit from Villa.

The fact that Everton boss Marco Silva opted to loan out Bolasie to a Championship club in the summer is proof of what he thinks of the player.

The DR Congo international is going to find it tough to prove his worth to the Portuguese coach, so moving back to London and to his former club, would give him the opportunity to prove his worth.

Bolasie scored two goals and supplied five assists from his 21 league games in the Championship, nothing worthy of making anyone stand up.

Palace are trying to avoid relegation this season and are in need of more firepower up top as they are still relying upon Wilfred Zaha to produce the goods.

Roy Hodgson’s side, who are the fourth lowest scorers in the division, need more oomph in the final third and Bolasie can provide that for a team that likes to counter-attack.

More than likely, a loan deal to Selhurst Park would suit Bolasie, who could be a useful player off the bench, with his energy, experience and directness much-needed in Hodgson’s squad.
