According to L’Equipe, Everton and Nice could reach an agreement over the transfer of Morgan Schneiderlin soon.
It has been reported that although talks started at €7 million (£6.28 million), the move will be completed for a €2 million (£1.79 million) transfer fee.
The report has added that a final agreement among the three parties will be reached in the next few hours.
Big financial loss
According to BBC Sport, Everton paid an initial transfer fee of £20 million to Premier League rivals Manchester United in January 2017 for Schneiderlin.
It seems that Marcel Brands, who became Everton’s Director of Football in June 2018 and was appointed to the club’s Board in January 2019, is ready to take a huge loss on the France international defensive midfielder.
Leaving Everton
Schneiderlin has failed to make a huge impact at Everton so far, and the former Southampton star has also had injury problems.
The Toffees are unlikely to miss the Frenchman if he leaves Everton this summer, as the Merseyside outfit do have enough cover in midfield.
According to WhoScored, Schneiderlin has made 12 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton this season.
