Everton fans have called for Ryan Bertrand to be brought in from Southampton at the end of the season, if the Saints are relegated.

Southampton lost 3-2 to Arsenal yesterday, with their survival chances taking another blow.

Mark Hughes’ side have badly struggled in recent weeks, and currently sit three points away from safety.

If Southampton do slip into the Championship they are likely to be raided for their top talent.

And Everton fans are keen to see Bertrand brought to Goodison Park.

Everton have struggled to find a left-back all season, with Leighton Baines out injured.

Sam Allardyce has been forced to pick Cuco Martina out of position on the left hand side of defence for much of the campaign, and he has badly struggled.

If Southampton do get relegated then Bertrand is likely to be one of their most in-demand players in the summer.

The England international is regarded as one of the most solid left-backs in the Premier League, and could be a great addition to Everton’s squad.
