Everton are reportedly rivalling Tottenham Hotspur for PSV Eindhoven speed machine Steven Bergwijn as he continues to shine in the Dutch giants’ side, but where does that leave Nikola Vlasic?
ESPN claim Sam Allardyce’s side are interested in Bergwijn, but face stiff competition from Spurs with both clubs renowned for their faith in youth.
Bergwijn, 20, has thrived with PSV this season after breaking into the first team from the Dutch outfit’s academy side, scoring five goals and adding six assists in just 22 Eredivisie outings – five of which have been from the bench.

His speed, hard work and skill on the ball has attracted both Premier League clubs, while hie eye for goal and ability to slice open an opponent’s defence is the kind of skill expected from someone a lot more experienced.
Everton have a whole host of wingers following the return of Yannick Bolasie and the signing of Theo Walcott from Arsenal, which in turn saw Ademola Lookman joined German side RB Leipzig on loan until the end of the season.
Aaron Lennon also left to join Burnley with Walcott and Gylfi Sigurdsson considered first choice. So with Vlasic failing to make the Everton matchday squad for seven of the last nine Premier League matches, could he leave in the summer?

Vlasic, also 20, was signed by Ronald Koeman in the summer after Everton played against his former side Hajduk Split in the Europa League. He caught the eye and Koeman opted to snap him up for a fee of £10million, according to BBC Sport.
However, he has played just 135 minutes of football since the turn of the year and remains way down the pecking order. If the Toffees do indeed sign Bergwijn, then Vlasic chances of game time will be next to nothing.
A summer move should be considered by the Croat, if the Toffees are indeed successful in landing Bergwijn.
