As we prepare for the Merseyside derby, everything suggests that this could be one of the best games in years.
Everton and Liverpool have both experienced mighty highs and great lows so far this season. Neither side have had it all their own way as is to be expected, but they are still highly capable of having extremely successful seasons. Unfortunately for one or both of them, their momentum will be derailed when the two sides meet on Monday Night Football.
The attacking intent of both sides this campaign seems to be greater than ever, with Lukaku thriving for Everton meanwhile Liverpool are being lauded for their many threats up front. Both sides have been involved in some of the best games of the season so far, with Everton in particular re-capturing their momentum during a narrow victory over Arsenal in mid-week.

But the one thing that will make this game special is the one thing that hinders both sides – the defence. The leaky, inconsistent nature of both back lines has been called into question on many occasions and it will be interesting to see how they fare in this clash. Nobody is expecting much from them which adds a sense of unpredictability to the game, because truly anything can happen in a Merseyside derby.
Then you just need to look to the touchline. In Klopp and Koeman you have two very proud men who will do everything they can to send the fans home happy, and that should make for quite the interesting tactical brawl.
The atmosphere will be electric, the game will be fast paced and there is likely to be goals galore. One thing is for sure – the ingredients are there for this to be legendary.
