Friday evening sees Everton host Crystal Palace at Goodison Park in the second Friday night Premier League fixture in September.

The Blues are keen to return to winning ways after last weekend’s disappointing defeat away to Bournemouth, while Palace will be keen to keep up their recent run of form that has seen them record three consecutive victories.

The focus will firmly be on two wingers in the game, with Yannick Bolasie coming up against Andros Townsend.

Bolasie left Palace to join Everton in the summer, while Townsend arrived at Selhurst Park from Newcastle United as a replacement for Bolasie.

So far they have both enjoyed themselves at their new clubs, but who has had the better start to the season? We decided to find out.

And as it turns out, it is Townsend who came out on top as he won in five of the eight areas looked at.

So far he has registered more accurate passes per game and enjoyed a slightly better passing accuracy overall.

He has also won more contests per game, 3.8 to 2.2 and registered more shots on target per game. He has also foudn the net, something Bolasie is yet to do for the Toffees.

It is not all bad news for the Everton man, though, as he has registered more key passes per game and three assists compared to Townsend’s zero.

He also has a better crossing accuracy with a score of 31% compared to Townsend’s tally of 28%.

Nonetheless, a win for the Crystal Palace man and they will be hoping that stays the same when the two sides clash this evening.
