Watch HITC Sport’s preview as Liverpool prepare to make the short trip to face Everton in the Merseyside derby on Monday.
Everton host Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Monday night hoping to secure the city bragging rights while also denting the Reds’ title ambitions in the process. But is Ronald Koeman under additional pressure to secure a result against the Toffees’ rivals?
HITC Sport’s James Rutherford and Michael Ramsey have questioned whether the Dutchman is living up to expectations at Goodison Park after such a promising spell at Southampton.

“Maybe he’s just a one-trick pony who does it on the south coast and nowhere else,” Michael suggests about the Everton boss.
Koeman will undoubtedly come under the microscope as Everton face one of their toughest tests in the upcoming game. Liverpool go into the fixture off the back of an emphatic 3-0 win away at Middlesbrough in midweek. And the guys suggested that the result was one that was not exactly expected.
“I was surprised how convincingly they beat Middlesbrough,” James explained when discussing Jurgen Klopp’s side’s recent form.

What will give Everton plenty of confidence is that they confirmed that they can compete with the best teams in the Premier League with their most recent result, which saw them come from behind to beat Arsenal.
Plus, Liverpool’s recent surprise defeat to Bournemouth will also give them additional belief as it highlighted that they are certainly not the finished article at the back. But despite that, neither Michael or James are backing Everton to secure the three points.
