According to The Telegraph, Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier is desperate to return to the Premier League amid links with a move to Everton.
Trippier fared well for England at Euro 2020, but will soon head back off to Spain to join up with Diego Simeone’s side, who won the La Liga title last season.
However, Trippier fancies coming back to England for good, two years since leaving Tottenham Hotspur for a move to Atletico, where he has become a ‘defensive animal’ according to Gareth Southgate.
Manchester United are very keen, but this new report claims that two Premier League rivals are also pursuing Trippier, even with Old Trafford being his preference.
Everton make sense as one of those clubs; The Athletic reported in May that the Toffees fancy signing Trippier this summer.
Seamus Coleman’s heir needs to be found, and whilst Trippier turns 31 in September, he has the quality to play in that role for a number of years yet.

Atletico want £30million for Trippier though, which is a huge price for his age. Trippier will allegedly tell Atletico that he wants to leave this summer in order to force through a move.
United having Champions League football is a major draw for Trippier, whereas Everton don’t have European action at all.
The Bury-born ace may well fancy a return to the North West, but it would be an uphill battle for Everton to beat United to his signature.
