Everton rejected an offer to sign Chelsea talent Omari Hutchinson on loan as Sean Dyche eyed late deals. The teenager also saw a deadline day transfer to West Brom fall through.
That is according to the Mirror, which reports Hutchinson was offered to Everton as a final day option after appointing Dyche. Chelsea were keen to send the 19-year-old out on loan on deadline day to find more regular minutes. The midfielder has rarely played this season.
Hutchinson has only enjoyed two first-team appearances totalling 49 minutes since leaving Arsenal’s academy for Stamford Bridge last July. Mikel Arteta was yet to afford the Jamaica maestro his senior Gunners bow. Graham Potter has also been hesitant to use Hutchinson.

Dyche wanted Everton to back his plans in the transfer market after replacing Chelsea icon Frank Lampard in charge. But the Toffees failed to get any deals over the line to strengthen their relegation-threatened team. Lampard left with the club sat just 19th in the standings.
Director of football Kevin Thelwell made an array of offers to add new attacking impetus to Dyche’s ranks. Yet his efforts either fell short or potential targets opted against accepting a transfer. While Everton elected to reject an offer to sign Hutchinson on loan from Chelsea.

Why did Everton reject an offer to sign Hutchinson on loan from Chelsea?
Everton rejected the offer to sign Hutchinson on loan from Chelsea as Dyche and Thelwell believe he is too young to make a telling impact in their fight for survival. The Redhill-born gem made his Premier League bow on January 5. But his 22 minutes remain his only ones.
Potter introduced Hutchinson in place of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester City. He also played the Arsenal product off the bench away to the Citizens in the FA Cup on January 8. Yet he played 27 minutes at the Etihad Stadium.
Since then, Potter has omitted Hutchinson from his past three Premier League squads. The former England U19 international further did not make a matchday team at Chelsea before October. While Arteta only listed the teenager as an unused substitute 10 times at Arsenal.
Yet Potter spoke highly of the potential Hutchison has after a friendly against Aston Villa in December. He said, via quotes by The Sun: “[Hutchinson] was really good, dangerous and asked a question all the time. Throughout the game, he showed his quality.”

But Everton turned down an offer to sign Hutchinson and the Chelsea gem saw a deadline day loan transfer to West Brom collapse. The Express & Star reports the Baggies sought to take the teenager to the Championship. But the clubs failed to finalise his transfer in time.
Carlos Corberan felt Hutchinson could help West Brom’s push for promotion back into the Premier League. The Hawthorns outfit sit 10th in the table after 28 games but are only two points off the play-off positions. They are also only four points off Middlesbrough in third.
