Lorient winger Dango Ouattara is reportedly set for a medical at AFC Bournemouth today as the Cherries close in on signing the 20-year-old, with Everton set to miss out.
According to Foot Mercato, the Burkina Faso international is pencilled in for a medical down on the English south coast after Bournemouth agreed a €27.5m (£24m) deal to sign the Lorient star, with the likes of Everton and Leicester City set to miss out on the youngster.
One of the most exciting talents in Ligue 1 this season, Ouattara has been in impressive form for Lorient this campaign, with the Brittany club one of the surprise packages in Europe’s top-five leagues as many of their top talents are now being eyed this January.
And now, Bournemouth are close to signing Ouattara in what could be a huge transfer for Gary O’Neil’s side, with the newly-promoted Premier League side in need of attacking recruitments this January in an attempt to avoid the Premier League drop.

Indeed, Everton are also in the market for new forwards with Frank Lampard’s side in the same situation as Bournemouth. However, unlike their Premier League rivals, the Toffees have been slow in their approach to add new signings this window.
The Merseyside club are yet to make a single move this month. And with Bournemouth close to signing Ouattara, Everton are now slacking compared to their relegation rivals in the market, who have now all made good moves in recent weeks.
Bournemouth have done well to beat Everton to Ouattara signing

With six goals and five assists in Ligue 1, Ouattara has rightly established himself as one of the most exciting wingers in Europe this season. And for Bournemouth, winning the race to sign the forward ahead of Everton is a major coup for the Cherries.
As we know, the south coast side are in need of more depth out on the wings, and in Ouattara, Bournemouth now have an option who can play in this position for many years to come, with the African talent also in the perfect vein of form to take the Premier League by storm.
