Everton are reportedly plotting a late swoop to sign Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao, with the Brazilian centre-back also believed to be a target for Arsenal and Tottenham.
According to the Daily Mail, the Toffees are showing late interest in the 27-year-old South American in the final 48 hours of the January transfer window, with Everton now having some funds to spend in the market following the sale of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United.
As per the report, Everton are hopeful of signing an attacker before Tuesday night’s deadline, however, Becao is also a target for the Merseyside club, though the Goodison Park side are far from the only side interested in the Serie A defender.
Tutto Udinese have recently reported that Arsenal and Tottenham are also interested in Becao, who according to Gianluca Di Marzio could be sold by Udinese for just €20m (£17m). However, this price tag could go up given how little time is left in the window.

Which is why the sale of Gordon, believed to be around £45m according to BBC Sport, has come at the perfect time for Everton, with the funds from this sale enough to potentially get the Merseyside club back in the buying market to make the signings needed to stay up.
Indeed, with Everton in need of reinforcements in the transfer window, the Toffees could make a late swoop to sign Becao in the coming hours, and with both Arsenal and Tottenham no longer looking at centre-backs, the Blues could be in the clear to bring the defender to the Premier League.
Everton signing Becao would be a coup at this stage

Everton’s financial situation always meant that the managerless Premier League club would have to sell before they can buy, and with Gordon now officially gone, the money is there for a signing to be made, with Becao an ideal addition for the Toffees.
Whilst an attacker is also important, adding some defensive depth and quality in the form of the South American would be a wise move from Everton, and with Sean Dyche set to come in soon, signing Becao could be a great welcoming present for the English coach.
