The Mail claim Everton and Southampton have had £22million bids accepted for Rennes no.10 Kamaldeen Sulemana ahead of deadline day – as both clubs frantically try to bring in new additions to help them stave off relegation.
Sulemana, 20, is showing enormous potential in French football since swapping Norwegian side Nordsjaelland for Rennes. Clocking up 47 senior outings for Rennes, he has had a hand in 10 goals – scoring six and creating four more.
The 15-time Ghana star has caught the eye in the Premier League. Everton and Southampton are in the market in the remaining hours, and both clubs need goals. While Sulemana is still largely one for the future, he is a real talent.
The latest report from the Mail claims that both clubs have had bids of £22million accepted by Rennes. Now, the decision will be down to Sulemana, between either rock-bottom Southampton – or a move to 19th-placed Everton.

Everton and Southampton have £22million bids for Sulemana accepted
Is he worth it? There is no doubting that Sulemana has potential but his goals and assists are hardly encouraging. Southampton have already added Mislav Orsic to their ranks this month. Everton do need additions on the flanks.
Especially, after letting Anthony Gordon go for a fee of £45million to Newcastle. But it is a large sum for a player unproven at this early stage in his career. Surely, both clubs are better off signing a more-established attacker.
If Sulemana is given the choice of the south coast or Merseyside, it is a tricky choice. Nathan Jones has improved his side’s form of late, though largely in the Cups. Everton are a bigger team, with a new boss. He may prefer to stay.
He is also likely to struggle to start to begin with, too. His best bet is remaining at Rennes where he is getting game time, and then making a decision in the summer – when there is no threat of relegation. But England will be tempting.
