PSV Eindhoven are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga on loan, with Marcel Brands keen to hijack Everton’s deal to also bring in the Swedish international.
According to the Daily Mail, the Dutch giants are exploring options to replace both Cody Gakpo and Noni Madueke, who both left for the Premier League this January, with PSV now interested in signing Elanga on loan, despite Erik Ten Hag being reluctant to let the winger go.
As per the report, Everton are also interested in signing the £43,000-a-week attacker on loan, though following the sacking of Frank Lampard, it is unlikely that the Toffees will have the time to complete a single transfer this January amid Sean Dyche’s pending appointment.
With Everton desperate for attacking reinforcement with Anthony Gordon on the verge of signing for Newcastle United, signing Elanga on loan would be a good stop-gap for the Goodison Park side, with the winger someone who could work well under Dyche.

Indeed, the former Burnley boss could get the best out of the 20-year-old Swede with Dwight McNeil on the other flank. However, PSV’s interest in signing Elanga could be more enticing to the United prospect, who could be tempted with a title-fight and European football.
Moreover, with PSV being managed by Red Devils icon Ruud van Nistelrooy, Elanga himself could be open to playing under a United hero and a coach is best prepared to build the attacker’s confidence up ahead of a return to Old Trafford in the summer, something Everton will struggle to match with.
PSV best suited to sign Elanga despite Everton interest

An out-of-favour United player heading to Everton is a tale as old as time. Yet this January could prove to be an exception to the rule with PSV interested in signing Elanga, with the Dutch giants much more suited for the Swedish talent as a temporary home.
With PSV in the UEFA Europa League knockout stages and fighting Feyenoord for the Eredivisie title, Elanga would be wise to opt for a move to the Netherlands rather than joining Everton, even though Dyche could be a good manager for the United outcast.
