The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Everton are trying to find the £15 million needed to sign Ndiaye this month.
The Toffees believe that the 22-year-old Senegal international could help them in their quest to survive the drop to the Championship at the end of the season and are willing to cough up to £15 million for him.
Sheffield United are aiming to win promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
The Blades have been put under a transfer embargo.

Iliman Ndiaye is one of the best young players in the Championship and has been on fire for Sheffield United so far this season.
The 22-year-old is a very versatile player who can operate as a central striker, out on the wing or in attacking midfield.
So far this season, Ndiaye has made 26 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for the Blades.
The youngster, who played for Senegal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, has scored 10 goals and given seven assists in those games.
