Udinese are reportedly open to letting Everton sign star striker Beto this January amid strong interest from the Merseyside club in the Portuguese attacker.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Serie A side are warming to the idea of selling the 24-year-old this transfer window, though Udinese have issued a €25m (£22m) asking price for Beto, a fee that Everton are seemingly open to paying to sign the striker.

The forward has been in impressive form this season for Udinese with Beto hitting seven goals in 18 league matches. And now, the former Portimonense star could be ready for a move to the Premier League, with Everton increasing their interest to sign the striker.

Frank Lampard’s side have already missed out on a handful of attacking targets this January, and the English coach will no doubt not want another repeat incident with Beto, who could be the perfect answer to the Toffees’ forward problems this season.

Indeed, Everton have scored just 15 Premier League goals this season, the second-joint worst in the division and an issue that has led to plenty of scrutiny from supporters about the club’s current crop of players. Yet Beto could be a saviour in time of need for the Merseyside club.

With Beto a regular goalscorer in a top division, the forward could provide Everton with a much-needed outlet in the frontline with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Neal Maupay misfiring this season, with Udinese’s asking price also something the Toffees could match this January.

Everton have to act quick to wrap up Beto signing

As mentioned, Everton have already missed out on numerous attacking targets this January. And when it comes to Beto, the Goodison Park side can’t afford to make the same mistake, with the Portuguese star simply too good for Lampard and his team to waste time on.

With the Toffees struggling for goals, signing Beto would be a huge step in the right direction for Everton, who could benefit massively from a towering striker leading the line who has been in good form this season, unlike Lampard’s current options in the position.
