Everton now want to bring Burnley winger Dwight McNeil to Goodison Park alongside fellow wide men Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray.

That’s according to The Times, who report that the Toffees are chasing a £25million deal for McNeil this summer.

It’s noted that Aston Villa also want to sign McNeil, but Everton are now looking to make him their third signing out wide.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Demarai Gray is on the verge of a £1.5million move to Merseyside, whilst Rafael Benitez is also signing is ex-Newcastle ace Andros Townsend on a free transfer.

Benitez’s desire to improve Everton’s wide options isn’t ending there though, with McNeil now seen as the big cash signing to go along with cheaper options in Gray and Townsend.

McNeil, 21, hit two goals and five assists last season and has proven to be a major threat down the left flank, often getting quality crosses into the middle.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin would surely love to get on the end of crosses from Townsend and McNeil, who has been backed to play for a ‘superpower club’ by boss Sean Dyche.

McNeil still has three years left on his deal, so Burnley are in a strong position to demand at least £25million, possibly even more.

Fending off Villa won’t be easy, but Everton can at least offer a stay in the North West for the ex-Manchester United youngster.
