According to a report from the Sun, Everton are considering a summer swoop for West Bromwich Albion centre-back Jonny Evans.
The Northern Ireland international has impressed since swapping Manchester United for a stint at The Hawthorns and, having already lost Darren Fletcher this summer, Baggies manager Tony Pulis would be loath to lose another key player.
That said, Everton are still monitoring his situation and, despite seeing Leicester City have a failed bid of their own for Evans, the Toffees are planning to test West Brom’s resolve.
Moving on, the same publication claims it will take a lot more than £30million to wrestle Everton’s top target Gylfi Sigurdsson away from the Liberty Stadium this summer.
The play-maker is integral for Swansea City, and it is being reported that Everton will have to do substantially better than their recent £30million bid if they want a realistic chance of sealing a deal this summer.
In other news, the Mirror claims Everton could get striker target Andre Grey for just £10million this summer.
The Burnley player is approaching the final year of his contract and the Clarets are said to have set his asking price, although they are willing to lose him for free next summer if no one makes a concrete bid over the next two months.
Given Everton’s need for additional fire-power and the knock-down price, surely this is one move that should happen if the reports are true.
