Tim Borowski has now urged Niclas Fullkrug to stay at Werder Bremen amid interest from Everton in a transfer. Frank Lampard is rivalling a couple of Bundesliga clubs for the striker.
That is according to Bild, which reports Everton now have an eye on luring Fullkrug to the Premier League. But TSG Hoffenheim and Borussia Monchengladbach want to keep him in Germany after a scintillating season so far. He has scored 10 goals in just 14 appearances.
Werder Bremen are loath to sell the 29-year-old having struck the second-most Bundesliga goals this term. Only Christopher Nkunku with 12 has outmatched Fullkrug’s efforts at the Weserstadion. So, Die Werderaner would want at least €20m (£17.5m) to consider his exit.

Hoffenheim have cast their attention towards Fullkrug’s availability after selling Georginio Rutter to Leeds United. Borussia Monchengladbach also admire the four-cap Germany ace, who has three international goals. But Die Fohlen cannot meet Werder Bremen’s price tag.
Everton have a challenge of their own just to convince Fullkrug of his transfer from Werder Bremen to Goodison Park. The Toffees have the funds to afford the Hannover-born hitman this month. But the prospect of joining Lampard’s side does not totally appeal to Fullkrug.

Borowski urges Everton target Fullkrug to overlook a transfer from Werder Bremen
Bild adds that Fullkrug sees himself playing for a top club like Manchester United if he does leave Werder Bremen. The forward has produced a sublime record at the Weserstadion so far this term. He also scored twice at the World Cup after his Germany debut in November.
Everton have explored a transfer for Fullkrug nonetheless as the Toffees sense the Werder Bremen star can strengthen their chances of avoiding relegation. Lampard’s team sit 19th in the Premier League table after 19 games after scoring just 15 goals – the second-fewest.
Only Wolves have scored fewer goals than the Blues with 12 in 19 games so far this term. But Werder Bremen hero Borowski urges Fullkrug to overlook any transfer amid interest at Everton, Hoffenheim and Borussia Monchengladbach until, at least, the end of this season.
“[My wish is] that he first finishes the season and scores 20, 25 goals,” Borowski has told Kicker. “Then he can think about what he wants, a better monetary contract or another challenge. We’ll see about that. Maybe he even wants both.”
