Tokyo Olympics star Jorge Sanchez admits he’s dreaming of a move to Europe amid reported interest from Premier League giants Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, speaking to Aguilas Monumental.
Mexico may have been left disappointed in their pursuit of a gold medal but a late-summer switch to the top flight of English football would be some consolation for their swashbuckling full-back.
23-year-old Sanchez, a versatile and tigerish wideman who plays his domestic football back home at Club America, has emerged as a man in serious demand after a couple of eye-catching performances during the Olympic Games.
A few weeks ago, Goal reported Everton were interested.
Equally comfortable on the right or left, the diminutive, £7 million-rated Sanchez also has admirers in the capital as Tottenham scour the market for a potential Serge Aurier replacement.
Aurier is understood to be for sale while Japhet Tanganga, despite impressing in pre-season and setting up Son Heung-min’s goal in Sunday’s 1-0 victory over arch rivals Arsenal, could be loaned to Galatasaray.

And while Sanchez has yet to be informed of any offers for his services, the highly rated defender admitted he would relish the chance to make a name for himself on the other side of the Atlantic.
“Of course, it is my dream to go to Europe,” says Sanchez.

“It is a goal I have worked a lot for. Let it happen. But, right now, I’m focused on Club America.
“(The club) haven’t told me anything, my representative is the one who knows. I am focused on my game.”
Sanchez is one of many right-sided defenders linked with a move to Everton in recent months.
The Toffees could be about to step up their interest as Denzel Dumfries packs his bags and heads to Inter Milan, although it appears Aurelio Buta, of Royal Antwerp, could have become Everton’s top target.
