Everton want Thorgan Hazard with the Borussia Dortmund ace wanted ahead of the transfer deadline – but there is competition from PSV Eindhoven.

Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure report that Everton are ‘on the prowl’ for Hazard in the final hours of the transfer window.

Everton want to stay in the Premier League and are now eyeing up winger Hazard as a new attacking threat to help them avoid the drop.

However, Hazard also has interest from PSV Eindhoven – whose transfer business is headed up by former Everton man Marcel Brands.

Hazard is now left with a tough decision.

Does he go and chance his arm in the Premier League but join a relegation battle at Everton, or join a title challenge at PSV?

Each move has its merits and Hazard may face a big call in the coming hours if both clubs firm up their interest.

Who is Everton target Thorgan Hazard?

Hazard is the brother of the former Chelsea star Eden Hazard, but hasn’t quite hit the heights of his older sibling.

The 29-year-old started out with Lens before following brother Eden to Chelsea in 2012.

Hazard never even played a game for Chelsea though as he was loaned to Zulte Waregem in Belgium for two seasons.

A loan to Borussia Monchengladbach materialised, and the German club were so impressed that they decided to sign him permanent.

The Belgian was outstanding for Gladbach, racking up 46 goals and 44 assists in 182 appearances.

Borussia Dortmund pounced in 2019, with Hazard not quite enjoying the same success; 18 goals and 21 assists in 122 outings.

This season has been tricky for Hazard, as he has started just two Bundesliga games and is being phased out a little at Dortmund.

Hazard still has 18 months left on his Dortmund deal but looks set to go now amid strong interest.

Hailed as an ‘excellent footballer’ by former Dortmund boss Marco Rose, Hazard needs a fresh start – and it could come with Everton.
