Mario Lemina would be a brilliant signing for West Ham United.

According to reports from Footmercato, Premier League clubs – Everton and West Ham United – are interested in signing Mario Lemina from Juventus this summer.

The 23-year-old has been tipped to leave the Serie A champions after he dropped down the pecking order at the club.

The report claims that a host of European clubs are vying for Lemina’s signature, but the aforementioned Premier League clubs are closely monitoring his situation as well.

Footmercato reports that Juventus are entirely convinced they need to sell Lemina. The defensive midfielder is valued at around £20 million, according to the Evening Standard.

West Ham should make a concrete effort to sign the Gabon international this summer.

While the Hammers cannot offer European football, they can certainly tempt him with regular football and an attractive wage package.

Last season Lemina made 29 appearances for Juventus in all competitions, but he played mostly bit-part roles. He started in only eight Serie A games last season, managing only 896 minutes on the pitch.

Lemina is a strong and powerful midfielder whose game is based on boundless energy. With 90% passing accuracy, he is very good at passing and crossing.

He is strong at tackling (1.3 tackles per game), and is versatile enough to play as a right sided midfielder as well.

The competition for him will be high but these are the types of players West Ham should be looking to bring in to bolster the squad this summer.
