Everton need to find a new striker this summer – and it looks like RB Leipzig’s Hwang Hee-chan is a prime target.

Joshua King’s short-term contract expires this summer, and it doesn’t look like he will be kept on following his deadline day move from Bournemouth.

Sport1 in Germany now claim that Everton are pushing for the signing of Hwang, with a €15million (£13million) price tag believed to be on his head.

Hwang has failed to score a league goal for Leizpig since joining from Red Bull Salzburg last summer, but he poses a major threat with his pace.

What’s interesting is that this could finally see Hwang move to Merseyside, having rejected a move to join Everton’s rivals Liverpool last summer.

Sky Germany reported last summer that Liverpool and Wolves had both shown an interest in Hwang, but he turned them both down in favour of joining RB Leipzig.

That move hasn’t really worked out, but Hwang showed his class with Red Bull Salzburg, smashing 16 goals and 22 assists for the Austrian side last season.

He bagged a goal and an assist against Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League, causing Virgl van Dijk problems with a superb performance.

That display probably put him on Liverpool’s radar, and Everton will now hope that he can cause Liverpool issues moving forward having rejected the Reds almost a year ago.
