Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson says he isn’t trying to leave the club amid links to Everton.

Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson has told BBC Sport that he is not looking to leave the club this summer, having been linked with a move to Everton.
Sigurdsson re-joined Swansea from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2014, and he has established himself as one of the Premier League’s top attacking midfielders since his move back to South Wales.
The Icelandic international hit 18 goals and 13 assists across his first two seasons with the Swans, and he has excelled again this term with nine goals and 13 assists.
In a campaign that has mostly been spent battling relegation, Sigurdsson has been Swansea’s shining light, and any believe that the 27-year-old deserves to be given a prominent role with a team in the upper echelons of the Premier League table.

With the summer transfer window approaching, some believe that Sigurdsson could move on despite Swansea avoiding relegation, and one team has been heavily linked with his signature.
Sky Sports reported last week that Everton are hoping to land Sigurdsson this summer, and are willing to put £25million on the table to get a deal done.
As one of the Premier League’s most consistent players, Sigurdsson could cost more than £25million, and he has suggested that he isn’t looking for a move away from the Liberty Stadium anyway.

Sigurdsson, as quoted by BBC Sport, has suggested that he isn’t trying to leave the club, and will honour his contract as long as Swansea don’t want to sell him – handing a hammer blow to Everton’s chances of signing him.
“I’m not trying to leave or want to leave,” said Sigurdsson. “I signed a new contract in the summer and I’ve got three years left, so it’s down to the club if they want to sell me. It’s down to them, but I’m very happy here,” he added.
