Everton have been performing well in the Premier League this season and have had to do so without the services of midfielder Muhamed Besic.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international tore his knee ligament in the summer, being initially ruled out for six months on the eve of the Premier League season.
He has in fact been out for longer than that, as his recuperation took slightly longer than expected.
But he appeared for the Everton under-23s against Tottenham last night, playing 45 minutes in the tie as Everton won 4-1.
Afterward he showed just how happy he was to be back, with this tweet sent out on his official account:
Besic is a popular player at Everton, with his never-say-die attitude going down well with the Toffees support.
However, he may find first-team football hard to come by upon his return. Summer signing Idrissa Gana Gueye has established himself as a first-team regular, Morgan Schneiderlin was signed from Manchester United in January and Tom Davies has emerged as a top talent from the Everton youth system.
Besic will have a fight on his hands when he is back to full fitness, but Everton fans know the Bosnian will be up for it.
