Everton host Swansea City at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman
This weekend sees Everton take on Swansea City at Goodison Park, with both sides looking to bounce back from disappointing results before the international break.
The two teams have had vastly different starts to the campaign, with the Blues 7th in the table and the Swans down in 19th.
Ronald Koeman’s side are desperate for all three points to show that the humiliating loss to Chelsea was just a blip, while Bob Bradley and his men need them to try and close the gap between themselves and safety.
Star men on either side are attacking midfielders Ross Barkley and Gylfi Sigurdsson, with both playing a key role in both teams.
Neither has managed to shine so far this season, so how have the two compared so far? Here’s what the stats have to say.
| Team | Accurate Passes per Game | Successful Final Third Passes per Game | Key Passes per Game | Passing Accuracy | Assists | Shots per Game | Shots on Target per Game | Goals | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ross Barkley | Everton | 34.9 | 15.4 | 2.5 | 84% | 1 | 2.8 | 1 | 2 | 10 | 833 |
| Gylfi Sigurdsson | Swansea | 19.18 | 7.64 | 1.45 | 75% | 3 | 2.91 | 1.36 | 2 | 11 | 898 |
Barkley has been the better passer, posting more accurate passes per game, 34.9 compared to 19.1 and more successful passes in the final third, 15.4 compared to 7.6.
He has also posted more key passes per game and enjoyed a better overall passing accuracy compared to the Iceland star.
Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson scores their first goal from the penalty spot
Sigurdsson, though, has registered more assists so far, with his three beating Barkley’s single assist.
He has also been the bigger threat going forward, posting more shots per game and more shots on target per game than the Everton man.
Interestingly, though, the pair are level when it comes to goals having both managed two each.
A narrow win for Barkley nonetheless and Everton will be hoping that he can come out on top in Saturday’s clash.
