Everton fans want Marco Silva to make Seamus Coleman captain for next season.

Everton fans have called for Marco Silva to make Seamus Coleman captain immediately.
Coleman has become a fans’ favourite for his whole-hearted performances at Goodison Park over the years.
And the Republic of Ireland international’s impassioned speech, which was covered by the Liverpool Echo, has gone down well with supporters.

Coleman said: “It’s about time us players now step up to the plate. We’ve not been close to winning something for a long time and at Everton that’s what we want, that’s what I want.
“I’ve been there a long time and, if I leave without having won anything, I’ll be very disappointed. As a group of players, no matter who the manager is, we need to take responsibility.”
The comments have led to Everton fans suggesting that Silva’s first task as manager should be to make Coleman captain.
Phil Jagielka wore the armband at Everton last season, but the central defender’s starting place is under threat.
Jagielka is now reaching the twilight of his career, and has shown signs of age in recent seasons.
Coleman, meanwhile, is expected to be a key player for the Toffees next term, as his desire to get forward could be perfectly suited for Silva’s system.
Coleman missed much of last campaign with injury, and will be looking to stay off the treatment table next time around.
