Everton striker confesses his admiration for Arsenal star.

Rooney said that he feels Giroud is being wrongly overlooked at Arsenal and the Gunners would be better off with the striker in their starting line up.
The Times reported in the summer that Giroud was a £20 million transfer target for Everton, and as the Liverpool Echo reported earlier this month, he remains a potential target.

Rooney had this to say about the striker: “The one player for me who has to start [for Arsenal] is Olivier Giroud. He scores goals and, every time he comes on he scores. He’s a handful and hard to play against.
“For me, if he was starting games for Arsenal, they would be a better team.”

Giroud would be a perfect addition for Sam Allardyce’s side, and could be the focal point of the team which they currently lack up front.
This season Giroud has made 15 Premier League appearances for Arsenal – but 14 have come from the bench.
Giroud is competing for a place in France’s World Cup squad, and switching teams could be necessary for him to secure a berth.
If Everton can convince Arsenal to sell, potential teammate Wayne Rooney would clearly be a happy man.
