Everton striker Ellis Simms has responded to a question about his future at Goodison Park after a strong start to his loan spell at Hearts [Sky Sports].
Simms, whose solitary senior Everton appearance to date came against Chelsea in December, joined Hearts on 26 January.

He’s already made two appearances and is off the mark at Tynecastle.
The 21-year-old came off the bench to play the second half of a 2-1 defeat to Celtic, before scoring the second goal in 2-0 win over Motherwell at the weekend.
Next up is the Edinburgh derby against Hibs on Tuesday night and it’s highly likely that he’ll start at Easter Road.
But looking longer term, does he think he has a future at Goodison Park?
Simms targets permanent Everton breakthrough after Hearts loan
“When I come on loan I just want to impress and just do as well as I can – scoring goals, working hard and helping the team do well,” he told Sky Sports.
“I’m sure if I keep doing that, when I go back to Everton, it will give them a decision whether they want me to stay or further my development by heading back out on loan.”
When asked if Anthony Gordon’s permanent promotion to the Toffees senior squad was an inspiration, he added:
“Definitely. I can see there’s a pathway there – if you train well and you perform well then you’ll stay in the team.
“Hopefully, when I get my chance, if I do well then I can stay in the team and hopefully that will happen when I come back from here.”
Simms clearly believes he has what it takes to become a star at Everton in the future and his goalscoring exploits so far in his career are encouraging.
He was prolific for the Toffees at U18 level and has a strong 17 goals in 40 appearances for their U23s.
A previous loan spell at Blackpool also went well, with ten goals and two assists from 24 appearances constituting a very handy return.
Given that he’s now 21, these next few months could be crucial in determining how his career pans out, so it’s important that he builds on his strong start at Tynecastle.
