Everton are interested in snapping up Ajax striker Brian Brobbey – just a year since he snubbed Manchester United.
Ajax forward Brian Brobbey is the latest name on Everton’s transfer wish list as Sean Dyche chases a new forward.
That is according to a report from Sky Sports, who claim that Everton have started contact with Ajax over a deal for Brobbey.
It’s stated that a formal bid hasn’t yet been made but Everton are now exploring a deal for the Dutchman.
Everton are desperate for a new striker this summer with Dominic Calvert-Lewin enduring injury nightmares in recent years.
Neal Maupay hasn’t worked out for Everton and Ellis Simms has now been sold to Coventry City.
Tom Cannon impressed on loan at Preston North End but throwing him into Premier League action would be bold.
That means Everton must move in for a new forward, with Brobbey now emerging as a possible signing.

Who is Everton target Brian Brobbey?
Brobbey was born in Amsterdam and unsurprisingly started his career in the Ajax ranks.
Brobbey emerged as a huge talent for Ajax and smashed 16 goals in 32 games for the Jong Ajax side.
That handed Brobbey a first-team chance and six goals in 19 games summed up the potential he possessed.
However, Brobbey decided to leave Ajax in the summer of 2021, penning a deal with German side RB Leipzig as his contract ran down.
The move really didn’t work; Brobbey didn’t find the net in nine Bundesliga games and was sent back on loan to Ajax in January 2022.

The deal became permanent last summer with Brobbey securing a return to Amsterdam.
What’s interesting is that Brobbey claims Erik ten Hag wanted to bring him to Manchester United last summer, but he snubbed them to rejoin Ajax.
The 21-year-old managed 14 goals in all competitions last season, seemingly right back at home with Ajax.
Everton could now offer Brobbey another departure though, possibly seeing hue potential in the Dutch Under-21 international.
A physical forward who has shown promise with his back to goal, Brobbey is clearly a player with real potential but just how much Ajax would ask for remains to be seen.
