Impressive Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru faces an uncertain fate next season.

Belgian outlet HLN report Anderlecht have an agreement with Everton to extend his loan for another year, but the forward is currently stalling.

Much will depend on who Everton’s manager next season is and the plans they have for the Nigerian.

Onyekuru himself will hope for a strong World Cup which will only serve to raise his profile and enhance his chances of finalising his work permit.

One of the strongest factors for Onyekuru to negotiate also is the situation surrounding Spanish forward Sandro.

Sandro also signed last summer but he was a disappointment and was sent out on loan in January.

This week Everton chairman Bill Kenwright insisted Sandro will return to play a part next season.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “People like Davy Klaassen, Sandro, Nikola Vlasic, they’ve come here to give their all, they’re still good players and they’ll still be Everton players next season.”

Sandro might welcome a fresh start under a new Toffees manager but if he does stay then it is bad news for Onyekuru’s chances.

The former Valencia man would block Onyekuru’s path to the first team, which could become even tougher if the new manager net season brings in another player in his position.

Both players occupy wide areas off the striker and Onyekuru will know he faces a tough task to get into Everton’s first team.

He will be better off if Kenwright is wrong and Everton decide to cut their losses on Sandro and decide to give the Nigerian a chance instead.
